Social media messages that made the accusations against Franco, 22, went viral on X, the website that replaced Twitter, on Sunday. The posts were swiftly removed, and the Rays made no mention of their content.
The section that specializes in children and gender abuse is handling the issue, according to an Associated Press report from Wednesday night.
